I thought I was the only one looking for a sign
chase my story right out the window (out of this time)
I’ve walked a thousand miles inside my head
But I don’t know where any of them led
He said, “Don’t be afraid to throw it all away, cos’ you’re a god.”

I used to hold my breath forever waiting for the last laugh
Everything denied is crippled by desire (I can’t go back)
So I run and hide; sever all these ties
to crucify the martyr I’ve created
He says, “Don’t be afraid to throw it all away, cos’ you’re a god.”

And all around me I hear them say
Get in line

I surrender my desire to
Surrender my desire to
be connected
and feel rejected
enough to shy away and limelight the shadows
to need to be loved
to dream with conviction
to witness the mystery
to baptize in chaos
to skim the spiral
to spin on the spiral
of our divintiy
and still be a human…

don’t be afraid
cos’ you’re a god
